The business was founded four decades ago by Managing Director Simone Pittella's Italian-born parents, who wanted to establish a benchmark for high-quality Italian designed and made products that remained true to their cultural heritage. When Pittella's door handles were first imported into Australia in the 1970s by Simone's father, Felice, Italy was considered the reigning global leader of luxury, premium design, and manufacturing. As the second generation heading up the company, Simone Pittella has continued this commitment, carving out an elevated niche in the Australian architecture and design market. Pittella's unique position, borne out of two generations of Australian-Italian design heritage, is informed by an interpretation of beauty, sophisticated taste, and an appreciation for quality, otherwise known as bellezza, that is an intrinsic part of Italian life.

This dedication to craftsmanship, beauty, and innovation has led Pittella to expand its offering through an exclusive collaboration with Rubinetterie Treemme. Founded in 1968 in Asciano, Tuscany, Treemme has evolved from a high-quality tap manufacturer into an internationally recognised interior design brand. The Treemme collection—which includes the sophisticated IOS, KEA, HASK, and UP Plus ranges—features meticulously crafted faucets, shower components, and accessories that marry Italian manufacturing heritage with modern aesthetics. Manufactured in Italy's Brianza region, a historical centre known for brass, metal, and ceramic craftsmanship, Pittella ensures that all offerings meet the stringent Australian Watermark and WELS rating requirements.

Designed by eminent Florentine designer Marco Pisati, the IOS and KEA ranges fuse historical Italian design concepts with enduring modernity, identifiable by the precise geometry of Roman Doric columns and KEA's elegant goose-neck silhouette. Treemme's in-house designers have also conceived the HASK and UP ranges, with HASK characterised by sophisticated, fluted design and the UP range offering a refined deck-mounted gooseneck form.
