“With the Geary project, we knew this family of four needed a space that was dynamic, but approachable. Using Programa helped us present ideas clearly, avoid visual overload, and move quickly through approvals.”

Inside the Geary project: a family-centric interior design transformation in Toronto
From the beginning, we set out to create a space that felt easy to live in - warm, welcoming, and ready for everyday life. The result is a home that’s not just stylish but also practical, giving this lively family of four room to grow and enjoy the rhythm of their days. We had a lot of fun with this one, adding playful shapes and a few unexpected pops of color to keep things light. Geary was a true team effort, and we loved working alongside builder Jacob Fairley to bring it all to life right in the heart of one of Toronto’s most exciting neighbourhoods..

How an interior design workflow flexed around construction hurdles
As with all our projects, we developed a set of detailed drawings to guide the work but in this case, the process remained more open and responsive. Certain elements were adapted on site as needs and opportunities became clear, allowing the design to respond more directly to the realities of the space and the rhythm of construction. There was definitely some wonky building and material from the initial ‘90s build. We had to really get in there. We also made one oddly shaped bathroom into 2 functional bathrooms and this, of course, ended up being more complicated than initially expected.
Simplifying design workflow with dedicated specification and scheduling tools
Behind the scenes, Programa helps keep everything on track. We mostly rely on the scheduling tool which, honestly, has been a game-changer for how we run projects. It keeps the team, the builder, and the clients organized without endless back-and-forth. We also lean heavily on the web-clipper to collect and organize ideas quickly.

“a centralized platform allowed us to track specifications, flag changes, and keep the entire team aligned”

How Programa supported a flexible interior design project workflow from start to finish
Programa played a key role in the success of the Geary project, helping us stay organized and communicative in the midst of a more adaptive design-build process. With elements shifting on site, having a centralized platform allowed us to track specifications, flag changes, and keep the entire team aligned without losing momentum.
