In Conversation: Gabrielle Rosenfeld
“Programa is recognised as a leader in project management software specifically aimed for Interior Designers. It was a no brainer really that we introduce this software into our course curriculum as so much of what Interior Designers do is scheduling, quoting, documentation, procurement etc.”

Evolving Interior Design Education: A Conversation with Gabrielle Rosenfeld
Navigating the evolving landscape of interior design requires both skill and the right educational tools. Gabrielle Rosenfeld, esteemed Lecturer at ISCD, shares her insights on the integration of modern software into the curriculum and its impact on the next generation of designers. Dive in to learn firsthand about the future of design education.
What prompted the decision to introduce Programa into the university's interior design curriculum?
As Educators of the next generation of Interior Designers it is really important that our school offers students access to the best design programs and software available. Programa is recognised as a leader in project management software specifically aimed for Interior Designers. It was a no brainer really that we introduce this software into our course curriculum as so much of what Interior Designers do is scheduling, quoting, documentation, procurement etc.
Modern design education
We are about to launch it in our Interior Decoration and Styling subject to our students and can't wait. Mood boards, FF&E schedules, specifications and sourcing will be a breeze with Programa.
Yes definitely we have an exciting Interior Decoration and styling project where our students will be using Programa.
We start using Programa in Interior Decoration and Styling which is Subject 4 of the Diploma and the Certificate IV. Diploma students keep using it from there on until they complete their qualification.
How do you anticipate Programa enhancing the students' learning and design experience?
How does Programa align with the university's vision for modern and relevant interior design education?
How do you think students will benefit from getting to know Programa early in their educational journey?
“By introducing Program early we are able to get students to create good habits and structure around their projects. It also means that they are thorough and consistent in every phase of the design process.”

How do you plan to guide students in making the most out of Programa's features?
How do you envision Programa's role in the curriculum evolving over the next few years?
What steps is the university taking to ensure a smooth integration of Programa into the learning process?
Why do you believe it's important for future interior designers to be familiar with tools like Programa before entering the professional world?
It sets them up early on as part of their training and education. Good habits are created early on in their journey to becoming an Interior Designer. A large part of running any business is having good systems and processes in place. Our goal as an Education provider is to lead the way and train the next generation of Interior Designers to be efficient with their time, create beautiful and professionally presented documents and give them the confidence to start working in Industry.
In essence, ISCD’s forward-thinking approach, with visionaries like Gabrielle Rosenfeld steering the ship, promises a future where interior design students are more equipped, efficient, and creative than ever before.
